Bali | Tumpek Landep

Bali, Tumpek Landep is a Balinese Hindu ceremony that is dedicated to honoring the god of metal and technology, Sang Hyang Pasupati. It is typically held on the full moon day (purnama) of the month of Kasa, according to the Balinese calendar.

During the Tumpek Landep ceremony, the Balinese Hindus will make offerings and prayers to Sang Hyang Pasupati in order to receive his blessings and protection for all metal and technological objects, such as cars, motorcycles, tools, and weapons. They also make offerings and bless the keris (dagger) and other traditional weapons, as it’s considered as sacred items.

The ceremony is usually held at a temple or other sacred site, and it is attended by members of the community. It’s accompanied by traditional music, dances and other cultural activities.

Tumpek Landep is considered to be an important ceremony for the Balinese Hindus, as it helps to ensure that all metal and technological objects are blessed and protected by the gods, which will bring balance and harmony to the individual and the community. It also serves as a reminder for the Balinese people to appreciate and take care of their tools and belongings.
