Bali | Pagerwesi

Bali, Pagerwesi is a Balinese Hindu ceremony that is held on the full moon day (purnama) of the month of Bhadrapada, according to the Balinese calendar. It is a day that is dedicated to honoring and commemorating the god of wisdom, Sang Hyang Pagerwesi.

During the Pagerwesi ceremony, the Balinese Hindus will make offerings and prayers to Sang Hyang Pagerwesi in order to receive his blessings and protection. They will also hold traditional dances, music performances and other cultural activities. The temple and its grounds will be decorated with traditional fabrics, flowers, and other decorations.

In addition to honoring the god of wisdom, Pagerwesi is also a day of reflection and self-improvement. Balinese Hindus will use this day to reflect on their own behavior, to learn from their mistakes, and to make a commitment to improve themselves. They believe that by doing so they will be able to achieve balance and harmony in their lives.

Pagerwesi is considered to be an important day for the Balinese Hindus, as it is a time to honor the god of wisdom and to reflect on one’s own behavior, to learn from mistakes and to make a commitment to improve oneself.
